Designed for industrial mass production
HyVentus is a novel electrolyser stack designed specifically for high-rate industrial mass production. The M300/10 variant consists of 10 cells, each made up of two formed and joined sheet-metal plates — the bipolar plate (BPP). In a newly developed process, these two half-plates are first emboss-rolled at high speed and then welded together by electron beam. Between each BPP sits the actual proton-exchange membrane (MEA), printed using the newly created inkjet process. Embedded in a stable film frame — the subgasket with its seals — and the porous PTL/GDL mats, the stack takes shape. It is supplied with electrical energy via the two gold-plated contact plates at each end of the stack. The media — water and hydrogen — are fed in and out through channels at the edge of each cell.
