IWU builds hydrogen containers for Africa – Freie Presse article
Container-based hydrogen microgrids from Chemnitz — with applications from South Africa to Namibia.
We, the Referenzfabrik.H2, develop and demonstrate container-based hydrogen microgrids that convert PV surpluses into hydrogen, store it and convert it back into electricity when needed. Through new manufacturing and assembly approaches, we pursue the goal of significantly reducing production costs — with applications from South Africa to Namibia and, in perspective, also Europe.
“Our goal is to build our own hydrogen structure in Chemnitz,” says the head of the Referenzfabrik.H2, Dr. Ulrike Beyer.
